I've just joined the XC90 owners club. Bought an D5 se Lux on an 08 with 102k. Was in ok condition, though does need new cam belt and rear disc and pads along with 4 new tyres.
I went for budget 235/60R18 LUCKYLAND HTG01 (invoice says they are 107V HIFLY HP801 XL) at £88 ea fitted. What have I done?!? It's mainly the wife pottering around with kids and it's a safe car right she will never push the car like Lewis Hamilton lol! Anyone have any experience surely it's a lot of clever marketing with the dearer other brands. |

Widely available tyre tests, say on AutoExpress for example, typically show how poor these strangely named tyres perform compared to others. Each to there own but I'd rather take the bus than drive on a set of 'LuckyLand' tyres. |

Hi, these luckylands had the same wet rating and noise as the pirlellis scopripons I was originally going for only difference was fuel economy the pirellis were c and these are an e (there is no d apparently!?)

Tyres are a very personal choice. They have to be manufactured to a minimum specification in order to be approved for use, so they won't be dangerous, but a premium tyre will outlast and/or out perform a budget tyre. I know what I want on my vehicle should I need to take avoiding action on a wet motorway! |

I just checked website out and it does mention about the EU regulation etc and it says about these grades? Are these pretty pointless then? Can you tell me more about the testing process etc these tyres go through? and are three tyres with a C wet rating not all the same? |
