Xc 90 Stereo problem
 
Hi all my 2004 Xc90 stereo has gone dead by this I mean it came on then went off so I switched it back on again then it went off and hasn't worked since I have spoken to some stereo repairers and they are talking crazy money if it cant be fixed but want sixty quid to diagnose the fault .Please help I am at my whits end with this car I never have my hand out of my pocket It has cost me over three grand in repairs in the last three months ! Ta Chris .

have you tried pulling all the fuses for the stereo system on mine there was 3 i had a fault like yours and pulling the fuses and leaving for 5 min did the trick .

have you taken the stereo out to check all the plugs. the sad thing is that if you buy a second hand unit it may not work in your car. some have done it but the buttons on the steering wheel did not work .

The xc90 is different to the rest of the range it has fibre optic networking with security so you cant put used modules in , The ICM might be faulty .. you would need your dealer to tell you exactly what is wrong . then Marcel above may be able to help with repairing it .. rather than spend £800 on a new one ..
