"OBD" Code reader - how much demand?
There's probably already a thread in the main section that would answer this question but...
I posted in the "Wanted" section yesterday offering to build some of these, but wanted statements of intent from at least 5 people. So far I've had 4 positive responses. I reckon that £20 will cover the construction and P&P for the device, and it might even be slightly less. Either a PM to me or a "Yes please" in either this thread or the one in the "Wanted" section is all that's required. |
As there are ready-made obd readers widely available for that budget, Im intrigued... Would they offer something different? Like full volvo specific codes as a vida/dice would?
|
My understanding is that the 900-series isn't OBD I compliant; certainly when an RAC patrol tried to read my 940's codes he couldn't.
I'm working from a diagram that has been posted on the forum, and the price is provisional and the maximum I'd charge, as the components may be markedly cheaper if bought in bulk rather than piecemeal. |
Ah I see! Pre obd compliant code reader, good work fella!

I'll have one please

Update
That's the initial 5 spoken for, and likely to go to their recipients early next week. If anyone else wants one, then don't worry that you've missed the boat as I'm quite happy to produce them on an as-and-when basis: if the demand is there then I'll try to meet it.
All of the components have been ordered except the Jiffybags(TM) and it's now in the laps of Royal Mail and assorted white van men! |
I will be wanting one at some point in the near future. Estimate a month or maybe two.
Presumably it would work just as well on a V40, right? |
