I have just taken delivery of a 1990 760 GLE, 140k on the clock, (only paid £100 for it!). But, the car won't start. After some thorough testing (cheers Dad!), it appears to be the starter motor.
My queries are as follows:

Can the motor be taken out without removing the oil filter (see Haynes for further details)?

Where is the best place to get a replacement/refurbished motor (S. Wales area or mail order)?
