Hi Vic.

Have to correct you I'm afraid,

The B prefix ran from August 1984 to July 1985.

It is very unlikely that the 745 you saw was a B, it may very well have been a personal plate - given the 745 was not available in the UK before the 1986 model year.

Therefore even a 1985 745 would be a C prefix but IMO this would be v.unlikely(model year 1986 would have been built in Q4 of 1985 - it would then have to get to the UK).
