Hi 960kg thank you for such a detailed and informative post, I intend to have a go at this hack shortly, can you confirm that the capacitors i require are the metallised ployestor film capacitors rated 2.2uf with a working voltage rated at 100v. (From Maplins)

the dimentions given are 30mm X 15mm X 6mm does this sound about right?

I intend to use a 3.5mm Stereo Chassis socket monted ijnto one of the spare blanking swith covers, does it matter which terminal i use for the left or right channels or doesn't it matter as they both have a common gound.

your advice is appreciated.
