on the volvo procedure, thy use a tool made of 2 long screws, set in the spark plug hole, to compress the cover on the head.
I'll try this afternoon to bolt the cover very slowly, turning the bolt by hand... and we'll see...
but it's very strange...

yes the T5 always had variable exhaust cam timing from 2000 and had both inlet and exhaust variable timing from 2005
