All of the other volvos are much newer V70, S40, S80, S60 etc. You see more newer volvos than old.
It must be because the tax on the older ones on the engine size for a 2.3l is 895 euros per year where as the modern diesels are cheaper to tax. Taxable on their emmisions level.
My 240 GLT is the only 240 I have seen in Ireland

Right there can't say I have actually seen oned in Ireland, not the tax mate, Ireland was never a destination for Volvo in the good old day's they got as far as Fishguard and then turned round, it is only in recdent times they have cottoned on to the best car in the world.
There was a nice 940 in Dungarvan yesterday, silver, old couple driving, there is one parked in Callan, but no 240's.
