I have exactly the same problem with the front doors on my 240GLT.
You'd think that there would be some sort of adjustment on the spring, but no such luck. I have made up a couple of spacers which fit in the top of the spring recess in the hinge, which seem to be helping. The spacers were plastic, just a bodge job to see if it worked, I'm going to make up a couple of metal ones when I can get at a lathe (perhaps next weekend?)
