I've used Michelin Pilots on my 1999 V70 AWD, which lasted well but were quite noisy , but not half as noisy as the Goodyear Eagle GS-D3 I replaced (all 4!) them with. To correct the noise, and after much discussion with dealer about wheel bearings, I changed to P6000s and noise dropped significantly, as did scraping at front end when loaded.

From new my 2004 V70 ran on P6000s (17") which were quiet, but did suffer from mild tramlining on certain roads. However, when I upgraded to a 2005MY V70 (don't ask!), fitted with the same P6000s, the car suffered from no tramlining at all . I can only assume that Volvo upgraded the suspension bushes somehow for the 05MY.
