Park Lane, A4202, London by Hyde Park. Seem to recall it was a woman in a Range Rover. Pulled out of car and they drove off. It's not uncommon, a BBC search will bring up some news articles - top of the list is a woman threatened in a car park with a knife. A 13 year old boy alerted other motorists and the police were able to make arrests.
But, in general, the rest of us can sleep easy in the UK.
For what it's worth, I think I will keep the key in the slot but we'll not be having any other keys and trinkets hanging from it either.
