Default RE: Oil light comes on at low revs.

I have a 93 Torslanda and it has done this from new. No one ever found out why, and it has now done 265,000 miles.
I have been told that it is unimportant, as long as the light goes out as soon as you increase the revs beyond about 1000rpm.
I have observed that pressure sender switches vary in their sensitivity, and chancing on a less sensitive one can apparently 'cure' the problem.
