that's the fuel pipe from the filter to the high pressure pump
if it fails it will leave you in the sh@t ( broken down needing recovery
I would get it replaced asap and as the fuel system will need to be bleed after I would replace the fuel filter at the same time
the bad news is I enquired about the price of the pipe a couple of years ago due to a broken clip which I cable tied and was told approx. £50
