You could do it Gloss Black like the current trend .. The secret to it bonding to the grille for years is a dedicated primer though , give the grille a good clean with a toothbrush and brake cleaner or similar to get rid of dirt and grease then use volvo primer 1161765 which is perfect for this task , then put your paint on top . This primer is also ideal for a base when gluing .
