Have you fitted an adjustable panhard rod? Or is the car standard as far as that goes?
I didn't have any trouble with it running 16s and being lowered. I am running an adjustable panhard rod from DVS Performance but its not necessary. I know plenty of people running 16" wheels on 240's without any clearance issues, even with people in the back or heavy weights.

Ive had mine with 5 people in it and it didn't catch at all.
