My 2005 S40 1.8 sport had 18" wheels, the ride was nice and hard but noisy. The Pirelli P zeros fitted from new were very expensive but stuck to the road like glue.
My current 2010 S40 1.6D Drive has 17" wheels which are much more comfortable and quieter, tyres are Goodyear efficient grip.
