A Picture looking down on to the lens would help .
There are quite a few of these listed on E-Bay . Which does show pictures . They say the lamps are suitable for 300 cars after 1985 up to 1998 + which is incorrect because the later cars have them built into the tail lights .
The latest volvo part number was 3281027
However what i think has Happened is that volvo ran out of the original HELLA stock of these and got them made elsewhere ( they look different to the original Hella type ) , hence your different part number . There must have been excess stock which found its way to the traders . It is very unlikely there are any early 1976 - 1984 300 cars left now which need these but the VW market might .
