Default Brake cylinder dust seal replacement -insitu?

Today while checking the rear brake shoes on the V70 I noticed that the dust cover on one of the cylinders had split. I don't really want to remove the caliper to replace just a seal as it could lead to shearing other components ie bleed nipples on re assembly.
Is it feasible to extend the damaged piston, remove and then replace the cylinder dust cover in situ??
I have looked on Vida but can't find a "how to" guide, perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place.
The guides on the web show removal/fitting of the seals with the brake cylinder removed, and some look horrendous - attacking the caliper with hammers and chisels.....

I have the 4 pot Brembo brakes so I guess parts will be Cheap..... not

Cheers
