Default Mira VG91 valve seat refacing machine.

My Mira VG91 valve seat machine is for sale.

This tool is a precision Swiss made item specifically for the machining of valve seats on alloy and cast iron heads.
It can produce multi angle profiles due to to the interchangeable cutting inserts and can also counterbore valve seat inserts to allow you to replace damaged items or for doing lpg or lead free inserts.
This is the machine ive used for all of my cylinder head work but since im hardly doing anything of that nature now, its time it went to a new owner who wishes to do cylinder head work.

The basic setup consists of the seat cutting machine and the wall mounted "table" that is adjustable to alow most all kinds of heads to be accomodated and worked.

Included are the two angled plates that expand the capabilities of the machine further to allow it to handle angled heads easily and which usually are an optional extra.

Another 400 euro optional extra thats included is the setting micrometer that allows you to precisely set the counterboring tool and cut a recess for the new insert to 100th of a milimeter or half a thou accuracy.

Setting fixture allows precise setting of multiangled cutting inserts.

Comes with formtool catalogue and comprehensive operating manual. maintainance tooling and various precision pilots and formtools, including 30, 45, 75 and 90 degree cutters for doing basic refurbishments plus a couple of three angle cutters for multiangled cuts.

Heres a short video showing it in operation:

ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Heres some photos of the work ive done for others using this very machine including removal of valve seat inserts to replace them with harder lpg compatible items on an audi 5 cylinder that made over 600 bhp im told.

This is the kind of damage that cant simply be lapped out using a stick and paste.

This tool can easily remedy it and add in new seat angles and widths to improve engine performance.

This 5 cylinder 10 valve head aslo benefitted from some development work on the seats which wouldnt have been possible without the Mira.

This plot of airflow shows the resulting effects of modifications to the seats and some portwork also, but it should be noted that the gains from the seatwork alone were higher than simply working the ports and having stock angles and widths to the seats.

Yellow line is final result on intakes, red line is stock intakes.
Blue line is modified exhaust and black is stock exhaust.

Price is £1950, I paid £2400 for it and its served me well.
