Strut brace
Volvo do a lightweight alloy strut brace for any of the S40 models.
The list price is £160 at my local main dealers, but I asked what the cheapest price was that they could do and they sold it for £140. The Volvo brace also comes with a bracket kit to lower fuse box out of the way of the strut brace.
