Simplicity is carbs and exhaust. It is so easy to get carried away......!!!
If the engine is apart then you could check bottom end and cam and maybe change to a D cam or other matching cam for carbs, depending how far you want to go, but then all sorts of other considerations come in. Keep it simples!!
