I'm looking to do the same work soon.
I also have a 2008 D5 185 - currently 600 miles from home with a large caravan and a worryingly high bite point! No judder pulling away yet! (Car is on 161k miles).
I already have a new flywheel at home (long story) so will need a clutch kit. Is Volvo the best bet for that also?
I'm considering DIYing the job - done a V70 D5 before - is this practical or crazy?
Or, is this something I should pay an independent garage to do? I asked my local garage (who mostly does servicing and MOTs) about it a while ago, and he's not interested in doing the work.
I'd rather not pay Volvo labour rates...

I have a small gearbox leak from somewhere too - assume a drive shaft seal, not crawled under to investigate - but assuming it is, I assume it's easy enough to replace the seals while the 'box is out?

Thanks in advance!
Alan.
