As a quick variation to KYPREO’s idea, I have used this tie wrap trick to achieve the same result on at least 3 Volvos (S60, V70 and XC70)
Drill a small hole through the plastic bits shown and hold the spring back with some thin tie wraps. Very quick, easy and cheap! I used white tie wraps as they were all I had at the time. Black tie wraps might look better, if that’s a problem.
