What I did was shop around on a well-known auction site and bought some 'carbon fibre' effect sticky-back plastic (shade of "Blue Peter").Then using some 'ordinary paper' and masking tape made a template of the area I wanted to cover.
Transferred that to the sticky-back plastic and, very carefully and using a squeegee, applied the plastic to the bumper.
