Those ideas have their merits Luke but unless i'm mistaken, they also have the added complexity of VVTi whereas the 1UZ is straightforward 32 valve V8 and 250+bhp but either way, the 2JZ is quite a long lump being a straight 6 so might be a bit tight lengthways - a tape measure would confirm.
