I wouldn't say that WD-40 is a good lubricant for anything.

It has an effect whilst still wet/liquid, but once it dries it will have almost no lubricating properties. It's good for cleaning things though.

Best use something else after WD-40 for long term lubrication.

I've used ACF-50, but there are other lubricants that will work. I'm hoping it has solved my issue, time will tell.
