Default RE: Soon to buy 855 T5 - auto or manual?

Gentlemen please!

Just to add my thoughts, in a reasonable and intelligent way:

850/70's are not old mans cars. The image has come from the old 240's and 340's which had core values (eg. reliability, space, safety etc..) which didn't generally appeal to a young market. 850/70's have similar attributes, but also have a degree of image, performance and handling.

As far as all my research of the market goes, looking at many ads and using the parkers (and other) guides I see no real big difference between Autos and Manuals in price. There are certainly many willing buyers who want a manual over an auto. I am open to being convinced otherwise if shown actual figures.

If my car was so old and kn@ckered that I had to pay someone to take it away, then I don't rekon it would sell any better being an auto. In fact in my experience a very old banger which is an auto will sell less easily than a manual. At that level, the complexity of an auto is a considerable turn off for many buyers.

Lets keep it intelligent and reasoned......
