Default Turbo Inlet Pipe Collapsing?

I've not had the problem but I understand from this forum that as they age the pipe can go soft as the vacuum inside the pipe causes it to temporarily collapse under load only to spring out again at low load.
My 2003 D5 kept losing power and going into limp mode.....only when accelerating up a long drag.....it was sticking variable vanes in the turbo so I slowly built up speed on the flat and gave it an 'Italian tune-up'....You can also exercise the mechanism by accelerating hard from too low a gear ie foot on the floor at 35 in top gear......
Hope this helps and good luck finding the fault if it doesn't,
Nobby
