A second hand one should be okay if it’s been maintained - it’s relatively easy to strip them and check - there shouldn’t be any paint residue in the internals at all. Paint spots on the outside isn’t a good sign either, or under the paint reservoir cap. letting paint go hard in them, especially 2k, effectively destroys them.
I haven’t checked but I bet there are videos on YouTube on how to strip, inspect and clean spray guns.
