That is sound advice. I have no experience of the bearing on xc 60 alternator. I have had two Citroens with failed Bosch free wheel clutch bearings on alternators, well over the 100k mark. The Ina bearing made noises for a long time before I replaced them, so they did not seize. Other Citroen did the same, so whether the Volvo one seizes, or can seize, I don't know.
