Absolutely. It's over 5 years since I'd sold a car, and that too was via Gumtree, so being a bit out of touch I asked Dyrdal's advice - which was very definitely to avoid Ebay for exactly the reasons that have now played out.
In a way I feel a bit disappointed for the vendor. Possibly he bought the car intending to keep it, and then had second thoughts and so he's now in a fix. Or possibly he fancied himself as a bit of a Mike Brewer-style Wheeler Dealer, but sadly TV reality shows are a bit removed from reality!
Unless it's now sold and the seller has simply accepted the loss, presumably we'll see it on Ebay again soon. Or maybe he'll think again and decide to became a long-term Volvo "classic" owner!
