I still wouldn't trust someone who says they can't repair it.

As Dai says its the wrong ECU for a 96, but maybe its really a 95. Does the Engine have EGR or an internal OBDII socket?

Can the injectors be driven directly, ie just grounding the big grey wire going to the ECU. Maybe there is a problem with the wiring or injectors. They are basically connect to 12V Via the radio suppression relay (which is just a relay used to isolate the electrical noise for the radio). You should get 12V at the injectors with ignition on, from this relay. Its a common fault, and you can just bypass it temporarily.

Still assuming it is faulty it shouldn't be that hard to find another, try a breaker on ebay.
