The official line is that all Volvos built post 1976 will run on E10.
However, I find that the higher mileage obtained per gallon (litre) when running on E5 more than compensates for the increased price and results in a lower cost per mile figure.
That it is kinder to the fuel system may be debatable, but my feeling of well-being when using it is tangible. While I don't go out of my way to look for E5 when I need fuel, it would be my preference should it be available at the pumps when I do.
