Listen to this. What have you got to lose by checking anyway ?

Perhaps too much oil means oil burning ? = DPF issues/regeneration/limp mode.

Coincidental with (an aftermarket) resonator change seems questionable ?

Is it definitely 185, silver engine cover ?
