^^^^^ Prior to that I would switch the ignition on for 5 seconds, then off, repeat 10 times. This should fill the filter & bowl.
When you turn the ignition on, the electric fuel pump in the tank runs for a few seconds to make sure the system is primed.
You could also try a bit of Easy Start into the air filter housing.
