Default removing aux pulley on crankshaft

Hi
I have a 2002 S40 T4 manual and trying to do the timing belt replacement.

i have got to the point where i need to remove the aux pulley..the 4xM10 bolts.

Whoever did the previous timing belt replacement has put those bolts on pretty tightly so i have 2 questions...

1. Are the 4xM10 bolts LH threads or RH threads??

2. And the reason for question 1...when trying to turn the bolts (assuming RH thread) the crankshaft rotates...what can i do to prevent it rotating so i can apply some grunt to those bolts.

I did try holding the crankshaft centre nut with a 32 socket but couldn't get enough leverage (the socket spanners intereferred with each other) which also leads to question 1.

thanks in advance
