I taught myself how to paint with the help of you tube, I got a decent 50 litre compressor some cheapo spray guns to do the job, if you have a steady hand and a good eye for the actual prep work its not too difficult to do. My 1st proper go at it was on my cousins car, he's a fussy bugger when it comes to his cars but was really pleased with the result I got with a £12 spray gun.If you have the time and somewhere dry and warmish to work why not have a crack at it yourself?
