I would see if you can improve your situation by trying to re-aim the headlights. When I first drove my car at night - fortunately a short drive of about 500 meters - I could see absolutely nothing! I parked the car about 20 feet in front of a wall where I could see the location of the beams and re-aimed the lights. Still not great, but not suicide to drive at night!

I also found that I had a voltage drop of about .5 volts across the light switch. You might try to clean your connections at both the switch and at the fuse box. At some point, I plan to replace the switch, but I lost the hardware for the replacement switch and need to fabricate a new nut assembly to hold the switch to the firewall.
I mean, inside the lamp, dead ahead of the bulb, is a circle of metal on a strut. I have replaced my light switch with new modern, as mine died. The beam aim is fine. Have ordered pair of Phillips 145/100 watt bulbs, c what that does.

Derek. Yes, flat front glass, no sidelights.
