Just to close this out, pipe has been replaced and no fault codes have reoccurred. Got the car back and the hesitation/stutter has gone, happy days. Hopefully I won't suffer the common EGR failure in the future (if I'd researched properly I probably wouldn't have bought a VEA Euro6, but nevermind!).
