My previous S60 was on the original battery when I got rid of that car at nine years old. The S60 I have now needs one roughly every four years.

Worked on my S60 2014 with start stop.
I tried the sensor on the battery first as there was a 'fix' there (taking it off and waiting for a reset) but that didn't work, however the one above did for me.
