Had a similar thing with my mothers C30 in January but without the limp mode. Dealer diagnosed the battery being dud at 11000 miles. New battery fitted and it appears to be ok now. Have to admit it was quite worrying for her when the dash lit up like an xmas tree though!

I will not say that I had to change my kegs, after it happened, but pretty close.
To add, traffic was travelling at 70 mph, 3 lanes and chucking it down with rain.
Fortunately, the wipers kept working and the hazards worked. Assume they got power from the alternator, direct.
