I've noticed this as a downside to the diagnostice system. This happened to me in socket 1 when I was testing the remote central locking. A faulty control box caused this. In your case a spare ecu (as socket 2 is ecu related) to plug in would be handy to see if this led issue in socket 2 was to cease.
