Hi,

There's no conflicting information! You can increase the pressure by either 1) adding an HPT waste gate actuator or 2) adding a MBC.

Nothing to do with engine temperature at all.

Your boost gauge will be somewhere on the dash or "A" pillar. Wherever you decide it would be best to fit it. But not in the engine compartment as it is a little difficult to see it there when driving along.
It is mainly used for initially setting any boost level and to make sure when driving "spiritedly" you are not over boosting.
