You will save yourself a whole lot of engine cranking by hand-filling the new filter with diesel, prior to fitting.

Brim the filter, wait 30 secs and brim it again.
Screw it on hand tight and turn ignition key to second position.

Wait 10 seconds for in-tank pump to spin up, and the engine should fire within 1-2 seconds
