Honda, LDV and Volvo are the best I’ve ever dealt with by not having my motor longer than five days. Ok, LDV are long dead but their back up service was brilliant. My Civic at 138k dropped its clutch, Honda had it for four days and actually apologised for taking so long and that was without a booking. The attitude of some manufacturers towards their customers is appalling.

It's all dependent on the local franchise though and their personnel and level of staffing in that service dept - the Volvo dealer in Leicester regularly had my car for several days for diagnostics under warranty and once forgot they had it there...that's after arriving once and they had no record of the booking. Things were similarly poor on most visits. Also had issues with VW, Honda and Nissan dealerships, as well as rare good service too - the now defunct Boston VW were excellent for me, the same company not so good in Lincoln. I don't believe the brand name over the door makes any difference at all
