I enjoy washing my cars (and motorbike), I find it theraputic. The end result and admiration from neighbours makes it worth it.
It also helps when it comes to selling. My 1999 S80, sold in 2009, with about 70k miles on the clock went onto the dealer forecourt instead of straight to auction because is it was so shiny. It was twice as old with twice the mileage of what they would normally display.
Tyre shine also makes a lovely job of the plastics in the engine bay.
