I have V70 D5 Man. 2015MY. I too LOATH the EPB; it was almost a deal breaker for me. Three years in my contempt for the designers and engineers who installed the system, and then chose one of the most ridiculous positions for the activation mechanism possible is only increasing.
I dislike the stop start too, but can disable the system with the button on the lower dash, but I soon discovered my old school habit of standing at a junction/traffic light with my foot on the clutch disables the system just the same.
As I have gotten on my soap box I might as well add that I HATE the trend to compulsory auto gear boxes in this market segment - rant over - thank you..
