I use the automatic wiper function every time it's raining. Works very well, in my opinion. Usually can use the same sensitivity setting for 98% of all conditions. The only thing it can't handle is certain types of snowfall, as it tends to obscure the view without making the windscreen wet enough for the sensor to notice it.
