Originally had planned to renew the front discs and pads today on the V40 so I headed in to work a couple of hours early to do them before my shift. Unfortunately on the way there my auxiliary belt snapped so I ended up replacing that instead...

Didn't particularly enjoy doing it as it's not an easy belt to get to, although I did move the ECU out of the way as suggested by Gatos and it does improve access considerably. May do a guide as I took some pictures on the way.

As you can see the old one was well past it's best and was brittle and cracked. New belt also shown running with the ECU still tucked out of the way.
