Do you ever anticipate the demise of your vehicle?
The gearbox is getting noisier.....well...the final drive part. Ive tracked another (J5C? Renault) gearbox for 250€. I'll hold off for a bit.
Earlier in the year it developed a misfire that got gradually worse. Turned out to be a cracked plug on no.2 cylinder. Only trouble was, when I removed the plug a bit of the ceramic fell into the bore!! Couldn't get it out so, start up and see what happens. Click click and that was it! Well, i thought it was....after my trip to the UK the potential damage is coming home to roost.....on long engine over runs it now blows some blue smoke and burning a bit of oil.
With the annual test due in March it will be submit it and see. The exhaust will need attention (AGAIN), tyres are getting down a bit (5mm) and like Clarkey, brake shudder under load or hard braking. I've the green pads in on new vented and drilled discs that will need a skim and new "will fit" pads.
I was hoping for another 2 years out of it......we'll see.
